The PulsePenLab is a non-invasive device for the assessment of the Pulse Wave Velocity and for Pulse Wave Analysis in small laboratory animals.
It provides an enhanced sensitivity, a reduced plunger size and a higher sample rate.
Longitudinal studies: in opposition to the invasive method, the PulsePenLab
allows measurements during the entire life of the animals, avoiding their sacrifice.
Examination time: the time required is quite short compared to the
invasive method. Animals are sedated and placed on a metal plate, eventually inserting a heated pad for better comfort.
The pressure probes are fixed on adjustable arms with two micromanipulators. In normal conditions, we experienced that the time required for
one invasive measurement is enough to complete up to five non-invasive measurements.

The PulsePenLab software was specially designed to manage high heart rates and small signals.
The sampling ratio is 1000 Samples/sec and the vertical resolution is 16 bit, i.e. 65536 levels, in order to allow high fidelity signals capture.
Long-term recordings: it's possible to produce long-term recordings (up to 24h) saving raw
data in ASCII format for post analysis performed by the User.
The guarantee period is two years and in case of problems, Customers have to follow a very simple procedure
contacting DiaTecne for the analysis of the issue and following our
instructions in order to send us the apparatus using an express courier (UPS, DHL, FedEx, SDA, ...) in case
it's not possible to solve it. In few days the PulsePenLab will be shipped back perfectly working.
